The main airport is located in Callao, which is part of Lima, so you this is the first city which you will visit when you travel to Peru. UNIVERSITY AND HOSPITALS

In 1996, prominent representatives of the education sector, gathered under the presidency of José Dextre Chacón, decided to found a new university. After two years of effort, on February 5, 1998, the National Council for the Authorization of Operation of Universities (CONAFU) approved the operation of the Southern Scientific University through Resolution No. 356-98-CONAFU. Its first The Organizing Committee was chaired by the Peruvian sage Dr. Fernando Cabieses Molina, who was the first Rector of the university, with Ing. Dextre as Chairman of the Board of the promoter association. Together with them, Dr. José Chacón Polar, a distinguished Peruvian doctor with outstanding experience in teaching medicine and first Academic Vice President, completed the founding board of directors.

The installation ceremony was held on March 26, 1998 at the Pedro de Osma Museum and featured the participation of distinguished personalities. On July 12, the admission campaign was publicly initiated and in September 1998 the academic activities were inaugurated in a welcome ceremony in which the university authorities, teachers, parents, incoming students and guests participated. The first academic semester began with fifty students grouped into two careers: Medicine and Systems Engineering.

In 2002, the university made an invitation to the outstanding researcher, ex rector of the National University of San Marcos, José Amiel Pérez to join the Universidad Científica del Sur with the position of academic vice president of the provisional body. When the university obtained the definitive authorization from the National Council for the Authorization of Universities (CONAFU) it was designated Vice-Rector for Research.

We have many public hospitals where you can make your clerkship,the most importants are:The National Hospital Dos de Mayo is the first Peruvian public hospital center administered by the Ministry of Health of Peru,considered the First Hospital of Peru and America. It was founded on the initiative of the Cabildo of the City of Lima in the year 1538 with the name of Our Lady of the Conception;In 1553 changed its name to Royal Hospital of San Andrés "and from 1875 it is denominated National Hospital Dos de Mayo.
The Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital is a public hospital in Peru administered by the Ministry of Health of Peru. Founded by the first archbishop of Peru,Jerónimo de Loayza in 1549 as Hospital of Santa Ana, this hospital provided health services to the indigenous population and women in need. At the beginning of the 20th century,the Public Beneficence of Lima undertook the construction of its current premises located on Avenida Alfonso Ugarte,near Plaza Dos de Mayo,in the center of Lima,Lima.
The Maria Auxiliadora National Hospital, is a level III Peruvian public hospital center located in Lima and administered by Ministry of Health. It is the most important hospital complex if we talk about the south part of Lima, which attends urgencies and emergencies from almost 8 districts along the south and is the reference center for provinces near to Lima. Currently it serves to more than 1,707,000 insured. It has approximately 1,600 beds and 115 outpatient clinics. In addition,it performs more than 60,000 queries per month.
The Docente Madre Niño San Bartolomé National Hospital,with the establishment of the Republic it became a military hospital. In 1961 it was transformed into a maternal and child hospital. In 1988 he moved to the site he currently occupies, on the eighth block of Alfonso Ugarte Avenue. In addition to its assistance function focused on mother and child,it is devoted to teaching and research.

In Lima the transport is varied, the most economic form is in micro or “Metropolitano”, which is a fast service and works by buying a rechargeable card and for longer routes there are taxis which can be ordered via a mobile app

SOCIAL PROGRAM

This social program includes the welcome dinner which you will eat differents kind of peruvian food and the international dinner which you must prepare typical food of your country, so you don’t forget to carry some ingredients that you need in order to prepare a typical dish. Our social program includes time to travel to another cities during the weekend and night club days.

MUST SEE

We have many places which you must see in Lima:

Plaza Mayor, Parque de la Reserva, San Francisco’s convent, Monastery of Santo Domingo, the Cathedral, Real Felipe Castle, Kennedy Park, Larcomar, Huaca Pucllana, Barranco, most of them are included to visit in the social program, also we recommended to visit the difference museums in Lima.
