Founded by the Spaniards as the Villa de Santiago de Saltillo in 1577, our city is the capital of the state of Coahuila in North-Eastern Mexico. Saltillo is known as ‘The Athens of Mexico’ for its vibrant cultural scene and its many educational centres and thinkers.
