-It’s true that french is our second language, but English is the official language of the professional exchanges that we are providing, so even if French is helpful with patients, it’s not compulsory, meanwhile English is mandatory.

-If the English abilities of any student are jugged insufficient, the student participation to the exchange program can be suspended at any time.

Clerkship Type
- Clinical Clerkship
A clinical clerkship is defined as the rotation of a student in a clinical department of a hospital or clinic, such as Dermatology and Pediatrics.

- Recognized by the 4 faculties of Tunisia with access to100% of the medical departments of all Tunisia public hospitals.  

- Special mention to the surgical departments with advanced implication for incomings to surgical operations.  

- The Student Handbook is highly recommended, as guarantee of your academic experience. If not available, you can purchase one within our local committees.

-Nightshifts are not compulsory. 

-In order to get the certificate, the student must complete at least 80% of the clerkship and fill in the evaluation-form

-If the student wishes to stay 3 weeks instead of 4, he must mention it in his AF, and get approval from the NEO-IN first, he can then get his/her certificate, only if he attends 100% of the 3 weeks

- In january we accept student starting from the 15th  
- Exchange dates are not based on calendar month except for July and August
- We encourage very much students to choose July and August as the accommodation will be in hostels with a lot of incoming students, and social program on this two months is the best of the year long.

-If you are applying for July or august , your exchange start & end dates must be the following dates : 
-> July : Monday 03/07/2017 - Friday 28/07/2017
-> August : Monday 31/07/2017- Friday 25/08/2017

- Apart from July and August where social program is absolutely the best, on the other months it's optional depending on the local committee. 

- Very high quality social program with professional standards, and breathtaking experiences, amazement granted.  

- Overall Social Program rated 8.7/10, all week-ends are national with two of them rated 9.2/10 for summer months.

Special Remarks

- During summer months, all our students are lodged in Students hostels / flats, you’ll be asked to pay a deposit (between 20 and 30 euros) which will be refunded if no material damage has been noted. 

- A welcoming letter will reach you before your arrival, with social program, accommodation, transportation details and useful information for your stay. You’ll be asked then to confirm your participation in advance for the national weekend trips.

- Associa-Med invitation letter is recognized by the ministry as an official document to make visa acquisition almost granted but also have a special reference to get visa to our incomings in a record time. Please note that the Invitation letter which can be downloaded through the database cannot be used for VISA purpose. If you need such document, please contact YOUR exchange officers. 

-If you need a visa , please apply for a Touristic Visa from one of the tunisian diplomatic missions in your country

Special Remarks
  • Applications for the months of July, August and Septembermust be submitted before 15th of March, and MUST be based on calendar months as mentioned above ( NO EXCEPTION).
  • For the remaining months, 3 months prior to the start of you exchange are required for submitting you application andchoosing calendar months is not mandatory. 
  • - Chosing three different cities is obligatory, otherwise your application will be sent back.

The standard documents are the basic documents that the students are asking for and the special documents are less important, as only some Local Committees ask for them. So it's mandatory to upload the standard documents, but not the special ones. (Students do it when asked for by the LEO/NEO.)
The upon arrival documents are hard copies documents that the students are requested to take with them in the host country.”
Immunization requirements
The student must provide us when sending the application with a prouf of vaccination/status of the following diseases: Hepatitis A, B and C; Rubrella, Varicella, Tetanus, Poliomyelitis and Pulmonary Tuberculosis.

Insurance
Health insurance : is required and It covers expenses linked to health issues (if you have to see a doctor and buy drugs on prescription)  .Valid health insurance must be sent within the CC, or it will be considered as ineffective.

Travel insurance : is required. However, this insurance CANNOT be arranged in our country, and should be arranged in your home country.

Malpractice insurance : we do not ask for this type of insurance. Thus the exchange student is not required to be insured for [malpractice insurance], it should be arranged in your home country if wanted, we do not have this type of insurance in our country.

  •  We only provide lodging for the mentioned period in the CA. If the student wishes to arrive before or after this period, it will be at his/her own expenses. 
  • Pocket money: Depending of the period and the local committee. If the meals will not be provided, you will get the equivalent of pocket money to cover the expenses of 2 meals a day for 20 days of work. (Week-Ends are not included) 
  •  We are always trying to place incoming students according to their preferences, but it’s not always possible to fulfill all of them, be sure that whenever you’ll be placed, your stay among us will be a life-change experience. Once you’ll receive your acceptance card , you cannot change your hosting LC , if you have any special request regarding your placement , please contact YOUR exchange officers.  

     We are doing our best to accommodate couples who have asked for in the AF, but please understand that this is not always possible.

- All our Incomings are asked to fill both Associa-Med and IFMSA evaluation forms , otherwise , no certificate could be delivered.

- Associa-Med do consider the IFMSA exchange program as an opportunity for students worldwide to taste oversea medical methods and enhance the cultural and human aspects of the medical students, on the other Hand the LEO/NEO-IN will have no hesitation in cancelling the clerkship and accommodation of any student coming on vacation or holidays .
