A clinical clerkship is defined as the rotation of a student in a clinical department of a hospital or clinic, such as Dermatology and Pediatrics.

TaMSA-Tatarstan has fully implemented all aspects of AQ. Every TaMSA-outgoing student has to fill in Official TaMSA-Tatarstan logbook. Incoming students must have their own logbook, and fill it out during the clerkship. If the student does not fill out the logbook he/she will not receive the exchange program certificate. Students should obtain the official IFMSA logbook at their local committee.

Important:
We accept students only from 3rd till 30th of the desired month.Please keep that in mind while you are buying tickets. 
Clinical clerkship is only possible on the 2nd year of medical school.
Preclinical clerkships are possible under special request, but need to be discussed prior to sending the Application Form.

Students need to bring their own clean shoes to wear in the hospital.

Students need to attend the hospital at least 80% of the time in order to receive the certificate.Usually there will be several students in one department attached to one doctor. Active and enthusiastic students will have more opportunities for hands-on experience.

Changes of available departments may occur throughout the year. Students will be informed about the availability of departments in advance. All applying students must fill in all 4 optional departments. We will try to place all students in the departments of 1st choice, but that is not always possible. A good motivation letter is very important for being accepted in the desired department.

Social Program
Yes, during summer months

Social program is available only during the summer months (July and August). Usually we offer social activities during the weekends – tours in Kazan, trips to interesting historical places, boat trips etc. All transportation and other extra costs will be at the student’s own expense. There will be some social program during the rest of the year, however as all our students study at the Universities please don't expect social program every weekend.

We would like to emphasize that it is very important for all incoming students to send all the documents listed below. If some documents will be missing the exchange runs the risk of being CANCELLED!

We would like to emphasize that it is very important for all incoming students to send all the documents listed below. If some documents will be missing the exchange runs the risk of being CANCELLED!The documents should include:

1. Passport size photo

2. One photo 10x15 cm – important to meet students at the airport or train station.

3. Copy of passport – this is MOST IMPORTANT. Please make sure that the student’s passport is valid at least 18 months after the planned date of departure from Tatarstan, Russia. On the passport copy the following information should be CLEARLY seen: the name, passport number, date of birth, date of passport issue, and date of passport expiration.

4. Four motivation letters. Motivation letters need to be written for every department explaining why the student is willing to do the clerkship in that department. Short and non-informative motivation letters will be returned to the student.

5. A document from the University stating which year of Medicine the students has completed (enrollment letter) - ONLY IN ENGLISH!!!.

7. English language certificate (in ENGLISH!).

All documents must be presented in ENGLISH! Applications in other languages will be REFUSED!!!

All documents must be presented electronically attached to AF (through the database) or on CD/DVD (for MM). If the documents are not given to us at the March Meeting, then they should be sent by e-mail to neo.tatarstan@gmail.com in PDF-format.

Students from all countries need visas to enter Russia. In order to get the visa the students will have to apply to the Russian embassy in the country of residence. Remember: a student can only get a Russian visa for the dates stated in the Official Invitation Letter. In order to stay longer after the clerkship or arrive earlier for tourist purposes you will need to apply for a second (tourist) visa. Please DO NOT buy tickets to Russia before you receive your CA!!!

IMPORTANT - INVITATION LETTERS!

Invitation letters for students will be issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. In order to do this it is very important for us to have a copy of the student’s passport, which meets all the requirements stated above. The time needed for the invitation letter to be issued is 32-36 days. We advise all students to visit the web site of their local Russian Embassy to check the rules and regulations before applying for the visa. The NEO must be notified concerning any changes that might occur before or during the exchange.

The standard documents are the basic documents that the students are asking for and the special documents are less important, as only some Local Committees ask for them. So it's mandatory to upload the standard documents, but not the special ones. (Students do it when asked for by the LEO/NEO.)
The upon arrival documents are hard copies documents that the students are requested to take with them in the host country.”

Health insurance: As NMO, we require health insurance, however this insurance cannot be arranged in our country and should be arranged in your home country.
Travel insurance: As NMO, we do not require Travel insurance. This insurance cannot be arranged in our country, so if the students still wish to have it, they should arrange it in their home country.
Malpractice insurance: 
As NMO, we do not require Malpractice insurance. This insurance cannot be arranged in our country, so if the students still wish to have it, they should arrange it in their home country.

Substitute student’s documents’ should be sent to Incoming NEO Subtitutes must be for the same period   We must be informed about the substitution at least 10 weeks prior to the start of the exchange. If substitution occurs – the documents of the new student (especially scan of his/her passport) need to be sent to us IMMEDIATELY! Keep in mind that the invitation letter takes 32-36 days to be issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If we are informed late we will not be able to make a substitution for the same dates and the exchange will have to be cancelled or delayed.
