Clerkship Type
- Clinical Clerkship
A clinical clerkship is defined as the rotation of a student in a clinical department of a hospital or clinic, such as Dermatology and Pediatrics.
Required level of studies
We accept any level of study as long as the student is still enrolled in univeristy.

Even if accepted by the hosting country, students must be still enrolled in university by the time the Application Form is sent.

4 weeks, 6 hours a day, 5 days per week

Academic Quality

You need to complete at least 80% of your clerkship to receive a certificate.

Please do not forget to bring your IFMSA Student's Handbook. The handbook will prove that you have attended at least 80% of your clerkship and it will be required in order to get your certificate at the end of your clerkship.

Calendar Remarks
For Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Oradea the exchange periods during summer are:
July: 07.07.2019 - 04.08.2019
August: 04.08.2019 - 01.09.2019

If you choose the above mentioned  cities in the second or third option it will mean you are available during their exchange dates.
 
For Brasov, Sibiu, Iasi, Timisoara and Targu-Mures the exchange periods during summer are:
July: 01.07.2019 - 30.07.2019 
August: 01.08.2019 - 31.08.2019 

If you arrive earlier than the dates stated above, please make sure to contact your Contact Person in order for the LC to be informed and prepared to host you.

Except July, August and September, we usually accept full calendar months!

For the months of December, January, February the spots are very limited, and the students will be accepted only upon previous agreement with the NEO.

Social Program
During July, August and September we organize 2 national social programs each month. These include trips to the most important tourist attractions of Romania - Bran Castle, Peles Castle, Sighisoara, Transfagarasan, Balea lake and so on. Besides these, during Summer months, each LC organize their own social programs, which include mountain trips, trips to the seaside, Danube delta, parties, and so on.

The unilateral fee should be payed cash upon arrival, unless other agreements have been made between the NEOs.

We can provide Invitation letters and other documents if required.

Please apply for a CZ/A type of visa or a turist visa, not a student visa!

The following countries need a visa for the entrance in Romania:

If you require a visa, please make sure to send us the AF and CoD by the 1st of February
 
If you need to receive any additional documents from us, such as an accommodation proof, or anything else, please contact us at least 3 weeks in advance, especially if you need the hard copy sent by post.

Special Remarks

The students are placed by the LC-city criteria in the limited available spots for each LC. If they want to be placed using the department criteria, they must specify it in their AFs.
You must choose 3 different cities in your AF.

The standard documents are the basic documents that the students are asking for and the special documents are less important, as only some Local Committees ask for them. So it's mandatory to upload the standard documents, but not the special ones. (Students do it when asked for by the LEO/NEO.)
The upon arrival documents are hard copies documents that the students are requested to take with them in the host country.”

Insurance
Health Insurance is required upon arrival.
As NMO we do not ask for Liability Insurance and Malpractice Insurance, thus the exchange student is not required to arrange these. However, if wanted, these insurances should be arranged in your home country, as we do not have these types of insurances in our country.

We accept graduated students, but only in the first year after their graduation.
No student will be accepted if his documents have not reached us, or if he does not appear in the database or cannot prove he is a substitution for someone in the database.
