Grenadian accent are known to some as Caribbean English. Please research and make sure it is within your ability to understand and comprehend what is being said. 
Clerkship Type
- Clinical Clerkship
A clinical clerkship is defined as the rotation of a student in a clinical department of a hospital or clinic, such as Dermatology and Pediatrics.
Required level of studies
Current medical students and students who have graduated within the last 12 months are eligible for the exchange.

Academic Quality
We coordinate with hospital director via access to school. Hospital director is faculty of local Medical School of SGU and will coordinate with us to resolve any problems.

Some clerkships may require work into the evenings.
You are not required to work weekends, but you may choose to do so. Clinical clerk-ships must be a minimum of 1 month (4 weeks) in duration.

Grenada General Hospital working requirements:

'You must not dress casually, but professionally. Jeans, t-shirts, loafers and slippers are not welcome in the wards. Neither are armless, low-cut, strapless or backless tops, mini skirts. Clothing should reach below the knee. All tops must be long enough to cover the skirt or trousers with at least 6” to allow for bending. You should dress so as to help convince the patient that you are a part of the medical team. Ties are fine, but not mandatory. A white coat is required. Scrubs for surgical type clerkships are required and not provided. Students must bring stethoscope.'

Cities Remarks
Local bus are run by private lisenced "Van" as people carrier and they frequent bus stops. Charge should be around 2.5 - 3 EC. City can be reach via local bus. SGU school bus will not provide transport into town, only clinical site.

The standard documents are the basic documents that the students are asking for and the special documents are less important, as only some Local Committees ask for them. So it's mandatory to upload the standard documents, but not the special ones. (Students do it when asked for by the LEO/NEO.)
The upon arrival documents are hard copies documents that the students are requested to take with them in the host country.”
Immunization requirements
MMR, DTPV, Polio, Hepatitis A, TB screening test, and Typhoid. Yellow Fever is not required unless coming from a country that has been known to carry this disease.

Insurance

Health insurance IS required. Please see below on additional information for the health insurance.
Malpractice insurance is NOT required.
Travel insurance is NOT required.


Valid health insurances includes worldwide health insurance plan (ideal for people who live away from their home country), and plans that will cover an accident or illness while in a foreign country. This insurance cannot be arranged in our country, and should be arranged in your home country.

Questions to ask your current health insurance provider:

  1. Will I be covered for doctor's visits, specialists, hospitals, and pharmacies while I am outside of my home country?
  2. Will I be covered for emergencies and non-emergencies in a foreign hospital?
